White Star Quarry is unique in that there is a full time manned EMS Squad and
the Sandusky County Park Ranger Station on the park property. In the event
of an emergency, response time is usually less than 3 minutes. Since the
local sheriff, park rangers and Fire departments have a wide area
jurisdiction, it is not necessary to notify these entities individually since
the area is serviced by 911.
If cell service is not available there are phones at the concessions on the
property. The ranger station is located across the street from the
campsite just north of the entrance to the quarry. The scuba concession on the
park property has the numbers to reach the ranger if it is deemed necessary.
If Air evacuation is deemed necessary by EMS Personnel, the landing
place for the helicopter is in the school parking lot just north of the Ranger
Station.
